Bhubaneswar: The candidates for the written test for appointment to the positions of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) would not be permitted to bring wristwatches into the examination rooms, according to a statement from the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The OPSC said on Thursday that candidates will not be permitted to bring any type of wristwatch, including digital and manual models, into the examination room.

The written examination for the recruitment to the position of Assistant Section Officer will be conducted on Sunday, August 21, 2022. "It is for information of all concerned that any kind of digital and manual wrist watches will not be allowed since there will be a wall-clock installed in every examination room of the Center," stated the notice.

All applicants are strongly cautioned not to wear wrist watches of any kind while taking the Assistant Section Officer Examination, the statement continued.

On August 21, a written test will be given for the position of Group-B Assistant Section Officer (ASO). The exam will be held to determine the most qualified individuals to fill 796 ASO positions at various educational institutions in the state's 30 districts and three sub-divisions.

Notably, the exam will have three papers: General Awareness, Language, and Mathematics with Reasoning and Mental Abilities (Odia and English). There will be three sessions: from 9 am to 10.30 am, 11.30 am to 1 pm, and from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
