Boat Get Stuck For 3 Days in Chilika

Bhubaneswar: Three fisherman including a 10-year-old boy have been trapped in the middle of Chilika lake as their boat got caught in the weeds for the previous three days.
According to reports, the fishermen from to Pathara village in Ganjam district had gone for fishing in the lake in a country boat. The ship caught in the weeds as they reached the heart of the lake at the Gada Ghimuda jetty in Puri District, under a Krushna Prasad block.
The fishermen alerted the residents of their distress. The local people wanted the intervention of the Fire Brigade, because the boat was trapped in deep water covered by weeds.
A Maluda fire squad reached the area and rescue operations began. It is waiting for details.
