Brown sugar worth Rs 1.32 crore seized in Khordha, 3 held

Bhubaneswar: During a raid in the Rajabazar neighbourhood of Jatni police boundaries on Thursday, the Crime Branch's Special Task Force (STF) confiscated 1.32 kg brown sugar and arrested three people.
Sk Samir and Syed Imtiyaz, both of Rajabazar, and Ratiranjan, of Delang in Puri district, were detained.
Brown sugar weighing 1.32 kg, Rs 1.65 lakh in cash, and a Pulsar motorcycle were seized during the search.
The accused were unable to present any documentation or authorisation proving their possession of the illegal brown sugar.
The three people have been detained and will be sent to court. The STF has opened an investigation into this matter under the NDPS Act of 1985.
