Puri: On Sunday, a car carrying tourists from Andhra Pradesh collided with an auto-rickshaw on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive in Odisha, killing at least two people and injuring 15 others, some critically.
According to sources, the mishap occurred near Bhuan Chowk when a car carrying Andhra tourists from Puri collided with a three-wheeler. The impact was so severe that both vehicles overturned.
Locals rescued the victims and notified the authorities. A police team rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri. Two of the injured have been declared dead by doctors, while 15 others are being treated.
Around seven people were said to be in critical condition. The deceased had not been identified, but one of them was said to be an Andhra Pradesh tourist.
