ECI Approves Odisha Assembly Chamber For Presidential Election

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly has finalised the location where MLAs will cast their votes following the announcement by the Election Commission of India for the Presidential election.

The ECI has extended its clearance for voting in the Presidential election in the Assembly building's chamber number 54. On July 18, polling will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the Commission's statement, the deadline for filing nomination papers is June 29, and the deadline for withdrawing nominations is July 2. It has also decided where the polling will take place in all of the states.

Members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can vote in New Delhi's Sansad Bhawan. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, MPs can vote in any state, including Delhi and Puducherry. They must, however, apply to the Election Commission 10 days prior to the election.

To date, neither the ruling BJP at the Centre nor any opposition party has named its candidates for the Presidential election. The Commission has made the arrangements in anticipation of an election if no consensus candidate for the position emerges.
