First day of the COVID booster shot in Odisha, 147 people showed up

Bhubaneswar: On the first day of the statewide launch of the COVID-19 booster shot for all adults aged 18 and up, only 147 persons showed up at private hospitals across Odisha.
"A total of 147 persons had taken the booster dose as of Sunday evening. "Because it was a Sunday, the number was modest," said state Health and Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi.
The Covishield and Covaxin booster pills cost Rs 368 each, plus a Rs 150 service charge and tax.
From Sunday, the Centre has permitted all adults aged 18 and up to receive the booster shot at private hospitals.
