Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, the lone accused in the murder of Health Minister Naba Das, Gopal Das, was taken to Brajarajnagar in Odisha's Jharsuguda district for crime scene recreation.

On January 29, Gopal enacted the entire incident by firing two rounds from his service revolver at the minister, with one bullet piercing his chest as the latter alighted from the vehicle's front passenger door to attend an official event.

He demonstrated how he shot at Naba Das while holding the revolver tightly in both hands. He also acted out his attempt to flee by scaring people with his revolver and being overpowered by two cops.

According to sources, the Crime Branch is enlisting the assistance of the Directorate of Forensic Science in Gandhinagar to recreate the crime scene. During Justice JP Das' visit, the area will most likely be cordoned off. The retired judge is keeping an eye on the investigation.

Notably, Gopal's extended four-day remand will end on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Bishal, Naba's son, immersed his father's ashes in the Ganga at Prayagraj. According to the sources, he flew from Jharsuguda airport to the Hindu pilgrimage center about two days ago.
