Bhubaneswar: In line with the Supreme Court's instructions about financial support to each family of the persons killed by COVID-19, Secretary-General Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra on Monday organised a high-level conference to explore the ways of implementing the directives.
Regardless of their financial position, everyone, in the event of COVID death in their family, would receive this Rs 50,000 cash help, stated Development Commissioner Jena.
Jena stated that the family of a person who died and got any other type of help, will also have a right to Rs 50,000 for other support schemes.
Mahapatra called upon officials to ensure that it was easy for collectors, CDMOs and tehasildars to look at the procedure of applying for aid. He also requested the district officials to set up district committees for complaints on COVID relief facilitation.
Manoj Mishra, Secretary for Electronics and IT, said the applicant might submit his/her applications online or physically to the collector. A programme developed by OCAC for fast and error-free delivery is used to document all applications.
In addition, relatives of those killed by COVID can also request assistance in hospitals or during home quarantine. Someone who died of COVID-19 will qualify for his family, authorities stated, within 30 days of positive coronavirus testing.
Government would also conduct a state awareness effort to fully enlighten the public, Mahapatra added.
The meetings included the additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) RK Sharma, DMET Prof. CBK Mohanty, KK Mishra, and top officials.
