On Thursday, the incident occurred in Golgunda village, which is part of the Burla Municipality in Odisha's Sambalpur district.
According to sources, the pet named Blacky reacted quickly when it noticed a cobra attempting to enter its master's home. It used all of its strength to keep the reptile from entering the house.
Even after being bitten by a cobra, Blacky fought and killed the venomous reptile. After a while, the dog died from snakebite as well.
The incident has become one of the most hotly debated topics in the entire region.
Saddened by the loss of their pet, its master stated that Blacky was one of their family members, and the sacrifice it made to save their lives will be remembered forever.
