Koraput: Four people were arrested in Jeypore, Koraput district, Odisha, for allegedly submitting forged educational certificates to secure postal jobs.

According to sources, the accused job seekers submitted a forged certificate proving their educational qualifications.

A number of people applied for the positions of branch postmaster and assistant branch postmaster. However, some certificates were discovered to be fake during document verification, and the postal department filed a complaint at the Jeypore police station.

In response to the complaint, a police team conducted an investigation and arrested four people. The investigation is still ongoing, and more information is awaited, according to police.

It should be noted that after a major racket was busted in Balangir, several incidents of aspirants submitting fake certificates to get different jobs have come to light from various parts of the state.

Meanwhile, a new report from Sambalpur claims that fake certificates purportedly submitted by postal job applicants have surfaced in the district.

The issue came to light after the Sambalpur Division Postal Superintendent filed a complaint at the Town Police Station against six aspirants.

While the incident is being investigated by police. The six candidates are said to be from the districts of Bargarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, and Deogarh.

According to preliminary reports, all six candidates have submitted certificates from various educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh. They had all applied for Gramin Dak Sevak positions.

Previously, allegations of job applicants submitting fake certificates were reported from the districts of Balangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Kandhamal, and Kendrapada.


Meanwhile, the remand of the four accused in the Balangir fake certificate case - Manoj Mishra, Alok Udgata, Tribihari Panda, and Paresh - ends today. The Crime Branch will present them all in court.

The Crime Branch had attached the property of prime accused Manoj Mishra on Friday.

According to a new Balangir report, accused Alok Udgata has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. More information is awaited.
