OMDC Staffer Shot Dead In Keonjhar, Police Begins Investigation

Keonjhar: On Saturday, an employee of Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd (OMDC) was allegedly shot dead in the Champua area of Keonjhar district.
Sushaan Barik, a resident of Barbil's Dalaki slum, was identified as the deceased.
Locals discovered the bullet-riddled body near an electricity grid within the boundaries of the Barbil police station. The deceased's motorcycle was also discovered a few meters away from the crime scene. Two 9mm bullets and three empty liquor bottles were discovered by police.
After being notified, a team of police officers rushed to the scene and recovered the body, which was then sent for a postmortem.
According to police, Barik was shot in the head.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to determine the cause of the murder. Police are also investigating whether the murder was the result of a previous feud or something else.
According to family members of the deceased, Barik has not returned home since Friday evening. They also claimed that the killing was the result of a property dispute.
