The Odisha government has taken stern action against nine more officers for their alleged involvement in corruption cases, as part of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's zero tolerance approach to corruption.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has taken stern action against nine more officers for their alleged involvement in corruption cases, as part of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's zero tolerance approach to corruption.
According to an official release on Friday, the government has fired three officers and suspended the pensions of six others.
The state government has taken stern action against 197 officers as a result of this. They have either been fired or forced to retire, or their pensions have been terminated due to inefficiency or corrupt practices.
Shivaram Vishal, former Executive Officer of Cuttack District RWSS Division-II, is one of the nine officers recently sentenced in a corruption case. His pension has been terminated indefinitely.
Similarly, Gandaram Khamari's pension and gratuity as a former BID (Retired OAS Officer) of Kalahandi block in Kalahandi district have been permanently suspended following his conviction in a corruption case.
In another case, Gokul Chandra Naik, a former Assistant Agriculture Officer in Odisha's Nabarangpur district, was convicted in a corruption case and fired from his job due to corruption and inefficiency.
Krishnachandra Goud, a former Assistant Agriculture Officer at G Udayagiri, was found guilty of corruption and his pension and gratuity were suspended indefinitely.
Dasharathi Tripathi, the former Soil Conservation Officer of Malkangiri district, has had his pension and gratuity suspended indefinitely after being found guilty in a corruption case.
Upendrabhanj Naik, a former junior engineer of Sohela RWSS in Bargarh district, failed to maintain honesty and integrity in his work despite being a government official. He was also impolite. As a result, disciplinary action was taken against him, and he was fired.
In a similar case, Sushil Kumar Meher, a former auditor of the Sundargarh District Local Fund Audit Department, was found guilty in a corruption case and was fired from his job for corruption and inefficiency.
Anand Chandra Naik, the former Social Education Officer of Mayurbhanj Udala, has had his pension and gratuity suspended indefinitely due to his conviction in a corruption case.
