ATM Looter Nabbed In Odisha’s Sonepur

Sonepur: The Biramaharajpur ATM looter in Sonepur district was nabbed by police on Monday.

The defendant, named as the Biswal Suryanarayan, is said to have taken money from ATMs by giving support to illiterate people and ignorant people in the hamlet of Sadeipur, under the Biramaharajpur Block of the Sonepur District.

Notably, two reports of ATM fraud have been lately filed with Sonepur police in the district. Biswal altered account data, such as passwords, on the premise of helping two innocent people remove their money from their ATMs. He afterwards took from their accounts Rs 45,000. With Ulunda and Sonepur Police Stations, victims filed complaints about the scam.

The police began investigating the case on the base of the allegations before Biswal was arrested. Sonepur police superintendent Sitaram Satpathy told newsmen on Monday that he had also recovered Rs 37,000 and three ATM cards.

"Biswal plundered money in one month from four ATMs. In Sonepur Police Station two cases were recorded against him, and in Ulunda Police Station two. Several persons are claimed to have been scammed, who do not know the appropriate usage of ATM cards," stated Satpathy.
