Couple attempts suicide in Bhubaneswar; wife dead

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, a couple named Sanjana Periwal and Sanjay Periwal allegedly attempted suicide inside their home in the Siddhi Vinayak Apartment, which is inside the Laxmisagar police jurisdiction.
The pair, according to sources, were discovered inside the home hanging from a ceiling fan and were taken in a critical condition to a neighbouring private hospital. Sanjana was pronounced dead, but Sanjay, the owner of a clothing store, is fighting for his life.
While their children were away at school, they are accused of taking the drastic action, the motivation for which has not yet been determined.
Police in Laxmisagar have opened an investigation and submitted the deceased for a postmortem.
