Bhadrak: On Saturday night in the Bhadrak district of Odisha, a guy went fishing in a river and was killed by a crocodile after being dragged inside.

Sources claim that on Saturday morning, Buddhiram Malika of Baranakula village, which is within the jurisdiction of Tihidi police, cast a net in the nearby Hiraghai River in an effort to capture fish. He returned to the river with another villager to retrieve the net and catch. The crocodile at this point grabbed Buddhiram by the leg and dragged him into the deep water.

Buddhiram's buddy told the villagers about the incident, and they arrived at the river with light and sticks to begin looking for him. They notified the Fire Brigade and Forest officials after they were unable to locate Buddhiram.

On Sunday morning, the search operation was started by the fire department because it had grown dark. After a protracted search, they were able to recover Buddhiram's body from a small area of land about one mile downstream of the river.

When Buddhiram's body was found, the crocodile had amputated his right arm and leg. The crocodile in the river could not be found despite the Forest officials conducting a search.
