Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday evening, three teams from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence raided a private coaching center in Odisha's capital, following allegations of tax evasion by the institute.
According to sources, simultaneous raids are being conducted in Bhubaneswar and Kolkata at three locations associated with the Vanik Institute, which provides coaching to aspirants for IAS, OAS, UPSC, and other competitive examinations.
While investigating tax evasion allegations, GST officials examined and seized documents from the institute.
Central GST officials and Vanik chief managing director Subrat Chhatoi were unable to be reached for comment on the ongoing raid, which is expected to last some time.
